Our mission is simple, to help you become the best version of yourself.

You are the result of millions of years of success, living in a time of unprecedented wealth, security, opportunity, information, medical advancement and ‘stuff’.  You really are 1 in a trillion, one of the luckiest people ever to be alive.

So why don’t we always feel like the winners that we are?  Why do we often feel unfulfilled, impatient, distant, stressed, overwhelmed and tired?  Over just a few generations our world has changed at an incredible pace.  Our lives bear little resemblance to that which we were designed to thrive within and which our ancestors enjoyed for hundreds of thousands of years before us.

We used to know and be known by everyone, eat a diverse, organic and nutritious diet, spend a majority of our time in nature, toil for only a dozen or so hours per week and sleep like kings and all of this whilst living entirely in the present.  Not worrying about pensions, mortgages, promotions, exams, information overload and a never-ending list of other things.  Sounds like bliss…

So we have two options, retreat to the woods and live like a caveman or identify the secrets to abundant health, natural ecstasy and stress free living and then bio hack them into our everyday lives all whilst thriving in the digital age of the 2020s.

During this 3-day immersion event you will experience the 6 hacks that you can steadily develop into your life in order to gap fill the limitations of the 2020s and fully experience and appreciate the incredible times within which we live.  It is time to cash in our genetic winning lottery ticket and become your own awakened ape.

Although we are very serious about supporting you to become the best version of you, we are not serious about ourselves and hence in typical R1SE and calmrMe style, there will be a strong emphasis on fun and camaraderie throughout the retreat.

PRIVATE ROOM SUPPLEMENT

If you are not coming with a friend or partner and do not wish to share a room then for an extra £300 you can have a private room.  The supplement is because we need to decrease our overall capacity by one to accommodate this.

THE CUISINE

Don’t be fooled about what you hear about a plant-based diet. The Awakened Ape Retreat leaves nothing to chance and everything to the culinary imagination. You won’t find any limp lettuce or be foraging for your food (although this could be an option!!)  imagine mouth-watering crunchy Thai peanut quinoa, warming spicy chilli, butternut pecan wheat berry salad, jerk pasta, orange ginger sweet potatoes to name just a few of the amazing dishes you will open your taste buds up to. And let’s not forget the delish desserts from raspberry chocolate brownies, cinnamon buns to chocolate orange puddings. Yes, all plant-based and all super healthy!

We will also be having a little fun with ready steady snack, where in small teams you will learn how to prepare easy delicious plant-based snacks in next to no time. Great for when you are on the go and want to make sure you have something tasty and healthy to hand!

We will also show you that eating a plant-based diet does not mean you have to miss out on a BBQ with flavour-packed burgers, sizzling skewers and lots of vibrant salads and veggies. Great Food to enjoy and celebrate that feeds your mind, your body and your soul.

We will make sure you are provided with all of the recipes for the foods you will be eating so you can carry on with your plant-based way of life after the retreat.

ABODE

We will be staying at the incredible, luxurious Cattle Shed in Grindleford.  Rooms are all double occupancy with two separate beds.

  • All 11 en-suite rooms are on a twin share basis: all rooms have super king-size zip and link beds (so these can be twin rooms or large double).
  • Open plan lounge with integrated bar and dining, and panoramic views.
  • Media room.
  • 16m long studio.
  • Wifi throughout.
  • South facing terraces with barbecue and fire-pit.
  • Laundry with washing and drying facilities.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️  Excellent retreat - yoga and more! I’m a yoga devotee while my husband is a reluctant novice yet the Awakened Ape retreat exceeded both our expectations. Set in the stunningly beautiful Derbyshire Peaks in luxurious accommodation with delicious vegan food and a relaxed attitude to alcohol - “bring some if you want to drink it, we won’t judge you”, This was a celebration of life and post COVID freedom but with all the elements of a great retreat. We came away with some great life-hacks to live a more balanced, mindful and vital life. We highly recommend R1SE Retreats and can’t wait for the next.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We didn't really know what to expect but were very impressed with the whole weekend. The organisation was perfect, the itinerary was flexible and worked around the group's needs and abilities. Jen, Chris & Jo were wonderful hosts and couldn't do enough to ensure we all got the most out of the weekend. Vegan food was a revelation and we will now try to integrate more into our diet, so the recipes will come in very useful. The meditation sessions have already had a positive impact on sleep and relaxation. Wonderful group of people, interesting and varied activities, lovely setting, gorgeous weather, what more can we say! Would recommend this retreat to anyone who is open to new experiences. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I would definitely recommend going on a R1SE retreat. I went without knowing anyone else, but that wasn't an issue at all. The whole group, and the hosts, were welcoming and friendly, and we all became good friends and learnt a lot from each other. The food was delicious, with the extra benefit of getting all the recipes to recreate it at home afterwards. The activities were really varied, I tried wild swimming for the first time, but there was also lots of time to relax in between. I left the retreat feeling relaxed and rejuvenated, if only I could go every weekend! (Heather Jenkins) 
 
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Had the most AMAZING & MAGICAL 4 days away on my first R1SE Yoga Retreat, I cannot begin to tell you how much I enjoyed myself and I have now made special friends for life, I learned so much over the 4 days from mindfulness to plant based eating to yoga and nature everything was planned out perfectly, Jen, Chris & Jo were absolutely wonderful hosts and made the four days extra special - Even more so I am thinking about booking onto the Ibiza Retreat as I know I'll be getting over this one very slowly haha, Take me back any day!
